AFTER THE SUN – UFERSTUDIOS BERLIN (2024)

Project details

In the performance After The Sun, Brazilian choreographer Clébio Oliveira explores the memories inscribed in the body and the complex relationships between identity and aging. The performance reveals the poetic essence of aging bodies, particularly those of dancers who embark on an unknown journey through this inevitable transitional phase. Oliveira and his performers play with the dimensions of space and time, transforming dance into a hypnotic interplay of images and thoughts. The result is an immersion into an almost surreal allegory, where the timeless depth of the unconscious contrasts with the subjective limitations of aging, opening a door to deeper psychological exploration. Through a fusion of movement, music, language, and light, the ensemble invites the audience to contemplate and question the often-forgotten beauty and complexity of aging. How do we deal with something that lies beyond our control?
